The Discipline of Having Faith

“Without faith it is impossible to please God.” -Hebrews 11:6

Is there anything in your life that requires faith? Some of us are living paycheck to paycheck - we need faith to pay our tithe first before our bills. Some of us have family members that are completely out of whack - we need faith that God will move and work on their behalf. Sometimes we are completely out of whack, and we need God to help us! And some of us have HUGE dreams that will only be accomplished by faith.

Some people have lost hope in their dreams and destinies. They have lost hope for other people. They have lost hope for themselves. We can’t afford to be those people.

When God asked the twelve leaders of Israel to scout out the Promised Land, only two came back with a positive report. Do we know the names of the other ten? Nope. We only know of Joshua and Caleb. They became known - and they were the ones who made God’s name great!

“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” -Hebrews 11:1

For myself, I am staying in faith that my unsaved family members will come to know Christ, that there will be healing for my saved family members, and our nation will experience a great revival. Sometimes, I weep on behalf of these prayers. But, God is big enough to do even greater than we could ask, think or imagine! (Ephesians 3:20) It is critical that we believe what He says.

The Bible says, “Without faith, it is impossible to please God.” What are you having faith for today?
