In Christ

"Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives." -Romans 6:2-4

What does it mean to live "in Christ"? Most of us have a mental knowledge of what it means to be in Christ and believe in Him, but we may not have a true heart knowledge of what that means. Being "in Christ" means much more than we realize.

Once I was with one of my mentors and a friend of mine, and I confessed to him that I had a fear of public speaking. He said, "But, in Christ, if we have died with Christ, and we now live in Christ, then we have become dead to our flesh and our fears, and alive to everything He was able to do in his mortal body."

It made me think. He then went on to say, "If Jesus spoke in front of multitudes of people, then if you are truly in Christ, your spirit has already spoken in front of many people, because Christ lives in you."

The same applies to any area of our lives, whether it be health, emotional well-being, or a situation that may be outside of God's will for our lives. The key is believing that "in Christ" everything is under His authority, and therefore, the spiritual can override the physical in our lives. We just have to work it out in our belief!

Are you in Christ? Is there any area in your life that you need to be in Christ? Pray today that He would help you in that area. He desires to redeem the areas of our lives that need freedom.
