Defining Moments
"But an angel of the Lord came at night, opened the gates of the jail, and brought them out. Then he told them, “Go to the Temple and give the people this message of life!” -Acts 5:19, 20
There are things that happen in life that we know are God-ordained. For me, whenever I see a rainbow I know God is highlighting my path, and I am walking in the right direction. Much like God gave Noah the sign of the rainbow after the flood, God has provided rainbows at important junctures in my life.
Though life takes us on many journeys and along many different roads, defining moments should be one commonality for the life of the Christian. Divine appointments, favor, destiny -- whatever you want to call it -- we need moments when we encounter God and invite His purposes into our day. We need to ask Him, "God, what do you want me to do today?" or "God, who could I encourage today?" This simple act brings so much meaning into our lives. God will show up as we're seeking Him!
We don't come across these moments of purpose by choosing Christ and then becoming dormant -- we must intentionally choose to be open to God's leading in our lives every single day.
