"For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ." -Romans 5:17
I am always on the lookout for God-signs in my life. It's one of the ways God speaks to me. Two things He uses in my life to confirm my direction are rainbows, and the number 17.
The rainbow is symbolic of grace and God's promise, and the number 17 is also symbolic of grace to me. One rainbow, 7 colors. I was born on the 17th, and married on the 17th. It seems whenever I look at the clock it's 17 past the hour. Often when I travel I end up at gate 17 or taking off on runway 17. I'm not a numerologist or anything, but it's really quite uncanny!
Once I was with my husband at a football party. I'm not really into football, so it wasn't that interesting to me, but I asked God if there was anything I could learn from the game. Then, I saw on the screen that a player with a number 17 had just made a really great tackle. I felt the Holy Spirit say to me, "Grace wins the game." I thought it was so profound, I had to type it in my phone to remember!
But, isn't it really true that grace wins the game of life? It's God's amazing grace that allows us to overcome. His grace is what saves us, His grace is what restores us, makes us better, and heals us. His grace is the reason we have anything good in our lives, because we certainly don't deserve it. But because of Jesus, we have amazing grace.
Have you experienced God's grace in your life? I pray that you will, in every area, so that you can overcome in every area of your life and walk on the path that leads to redemption.
